Chorley & District Service of Remembrance for the 75th Anniversary of VE Day

St Laurence's Chorley hosts a special service, which is opened by The Lord Shuttleworth and Sir Lindsay Hoyle, MP. This unique Act of Remembrance includes contributions from parishes, service personnel, councillors and World War Two veterans from across the district. A homily is given by the Rt. Rev. Philip North, Bishop of Burnley. Local historian Stuart A. Clewlow offers viewers a rare reflection of remembrance. This is enhanced by remarkable, archived footage of Chorley & District filmed during World War Two. Finally, the Rector of St Laurence's and Chaplain to The Mayor of Chorley, Fr. Neil Kelley, leads us in The Act of Remembrance. Recorded and produced by St. Laurence's church during a time of national lock-down, this is Chorley & District's commemoration of the anniversary of VE Day. Video, sound and editing by Justin Stretch
